Bill Gates is the Founder of Microsoft Corporation, the richest and influential person in the world. Having wealth of 8.42 US billion dollars according to January 2017 estimate which is equivalent to the combined GDP of several African economies.

In 2006 Bill Gates announced his transition from full-time work at Microsoft and decided to devote the rest of the time working with his charity foundation to give society what he got. The foundation was started by him and his wife Melinda Gates which stands as “The Bill And Melinda Gates Foundation”.

Bill was born in Seattle, Washington on October 28.1995. Bill’s father William Gates was a senior lawyer and his mother was an executive for a major bank. Despite being wealthy they encouraged their children to work hard and take nothing for granted.

Bill’s parents were so supportive and encouraged his internet in computers at an early age. He dropped out of college to start Microsoft with his childhood friend Paul and attended the private Lakeside school at the age of 13 where he was first introduced to computers. After learning the basics he made a simple game “Tic-Tac-Toe”. He started to enjoy his time working with computers so he arranged with a Computer Center Corporation company to learn source code such as Fortran, Machine Code, and Lisp.

Bill enrolled at Harvard in 1973 where he chose mathematics and computer science. Although, Bill was interested in pursuing his own coding so when he got the opportunity he dropped out of Harvard without even completing his studies and started his own company.

Bill started Microsoft with his Paul Allen in 1975 with the vision of ‘a computer on every desktop and in every home’ that vision has seemed far fetched to most people. But in today’s era, it made it possible by Microsoft and other companies.

In 1980, when IBM started its new Basic operating system for the new computers Microsoft faced a big break. IBM was basically a far leading company in PC manufacturing in the early ’80s. IBM developed many PC clones where Microsoft also worked hard to sell its operating system to the compatible IBM’s companies. The personal computer markets started to boom when Microsoft gained its dominant position as a software manufacturer due to which other companies struggled to replace Microsoft as the dominant provider. But Microsoft changes the world by its program like MS Word and Excel which now have become an industry standard.

Microsoft released it first windows version in 1990 which breakthrough in operating software. Soon it became a best seller and started to capture the operating system market share and its majority.

Second windows, windows 95 was released in 1995 along with new operating system features and standards. This is also known as the backbone of all future windows which released as XP, Vista and Windows 2000.

Throughout his time Microsoft Internet Explorer became the dominant web browser although this was primarily because it came pre-installed on most new computers. But now Internet Explorer has seen its market shares slip.

Microsoft has its weakest sector which is the browsing tool. MSN live search has also struggled to gain more than 5% of market share where MSN had made the earth-shattering efforts for this cause. Nonetheless, several mistrust cases had been reported in the accomplishments of Microsoft.

However, Microsoft approximately meets its end and fall into three branches as compared to the US in the early ’20s. Thu, Microsoft was able to survive as a single firm only for a short period of time due to having intense potential companies like Google and Apple which are now growing swiftly rises.
